
Elder Terry Lewis McRae was born on March 3, 1956, in Columbus, Ohio to Trudor and Zella Mae (Hodges) McRae and has two brothers and two sisters.
In April 1973 he joined the United States Marine Corps at 17 where he finished his high school education in the Department of Defense Dependent Schools System (DODDS).
In October 1985 while stationed in Millington, Tennessee God brought him under powerful conviction of his life and gave him a fervent desire to seek God’s truth. The very next day Gunnery Sergeant McRae was led of the Lord to one of the Marines in his charge (Sergeant Horner) to inquire about a Church.
Terry began assembling at First United Pentecostal Church (UPC), Millington, TN in October 1985 under the watch care of Pastor Travis Sheppard and was baptized in Jesus’ name in March 1986.
In October 1987 he assembled with First UPC, Jacksonville, NC under the watch care of Pastor Gilbert. In December the same year, he was led of the Lord to Shiloh Apostolic Holiness Church where he became a member under the watch care of Elder Robert L Meredith.
Brother McRae received the Gift of the Holy Ghost in the summer of 1988 while deployed in the Mediterranean Sea aboard the USS Iwo Jima. He remained at Shiloh from December 1987 – August 1995 and served as Song Leader, Children’s Sunday School Teacher, Teen Sunday School Teacher, Adult Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. He was also a member of the Men’s Chorus
(The Harmonaires) and served on the 30th Church Anniversary Planning Committee.
In August 1995 Brother McRae transferred to New Orleans, LA. where he assembled at Antioch Apostolic Church under the watch care of Pastor Larry M Haynes Sr. He remained at Antioch until transferring to Okinawa, Japan in July 1997.
From July 1997 to the summer of 1999 Brother McRae assembled with First UPC Okinawa, Japan under the watch care of Pastor Rufus Parker. In September 1999 Brother McRae was appointed by Elder Jones, pastor of Upper Room Apostolic Church to care for the ministry after Elder Jones’s transfer back to the United States. In October 1999 he was licensed Minister through The Pentecostal Ministries of the World (PMW), Shiloh Apostolic Holiness Church, Bishop Robert L Meredith, Presiding.
From October 1999 – March 2000 Minister McRae served as Minister In charge of Upper Room Apostolic Church, Camp Courtney Chapel, Okinawa, Japan under the auspices of the military Command Religious Program (CRP). After his formal request for authorization to conduct worship services aboard the base was denied on March 30, 2000, Minister McRae returned to First UPC Okinawa until October 2001.
In November 2001 he left First UPC Okinawa and assembled with the Okinawan UPC ministry under Brother Hosmer. In February 2002 he transferred to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC and returned to Shiloh Apostolic Holiness Church the same month. In July 2015 he was ordained Elder.
Elder McRae currently serves as Assistant Pastor; Member of Shiloh Church Board of Directors; President of the Grievance Board; President of the Doctrine and Credentials Committee; President of the Constitution and Bylaws Committee; Advisor to the Young Adults Ministry; Married Brothers Marriage Counselor and Financial Advisor.
He is 49 years married to the former Francisca Angana Aranas of Cebu City, Republic of the Philippines and has five daughters; thirteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
